I have heard of Terracycle before and even written about some of their products. What I didn’t know is how absolutely cool this company is. I was at work and someone brought in Rainbow Chip Cookies and immediately I noticed the Terracycle logo.  Terracycle has a Brigade network which allows you to recycle everything from food wrappers to computers to health and beauty packaging! The best incentive for you less than green individuals is the proceeds are donated to a charity or school of your choice.
TerraCycle was started by a 20 year old Princeton freshman who decided to start reusing empty bottles to ship his organic fertilizer and is now a major up & recycling business that collects from different countries around the world. Anyone of us could be the next Tom Szaky!

About TerraCycle:
TerraCycle’s purpose is to eliminate the idea of waste. We do this by creating national recycling systems for the previously non-recyclable. The process starts by offering collection programs (many of them free) to collect your waste and then convert the collected waste into a wide range of products and materials. With over 14 million people collecting waste in 11 countries together we have diverted billions of pieces of waste that are either upcycled or recycled into over 1,500 various products available at major retailers ranging from Walmart to Whole Foods Market. I found this tea company the other day when I was in search of new exciting tea. I drink about 6-8 cups of organic green tea a day and have been doing so for so long sometimes I just want a kick of new flavor. Two Leaves & A Bud makes a variety of organic teas. They have cute accessories, sampler packs and packaging but what I like most is that the creator of  Two Leaves & A Bud” goes there” as they put it. Richard Rosenfeld visited the actual tea gardens to see which ones would be up to par for the teas he was looking to create. Richard actually visits the tea gardener’s and speaks growers. He gardens with them and even picks and chooses which gardens he will do business according to their organ-icity of their tea bushes. Two Leaves & A Bud only uses tea that has been grown organically from the seed. Also Two Leaves is a certified Fair Trade business. They help the growers get paid and are treated properly. They are also one of the founding members of TRUST Organic Small Farmers Initiative.

Trust Organic Small Farmers is an alliance of small farmer-organizations, dedicated wholesalers, retailers and nonprofit-institutions from around the world, that have committed to three big common goals:
*Make the World Fairer and healthier.

I don’t know how many of you sit in an office all day but I know I do and I always wonder what other choices of seating we could have that might be better than what we are currently sitting on. I know the cushy faux leather or cloth monstrosities always look uber comfy but maybe we could do better than that. I found this while looking for some random craft stuff and I couldn’t resisit posting this! This wooden stapler isn’t any great big new idea but it is cute! I like how simple the stapler is and better yet how you can decorate it any way you choose! You can leave it plain or make it your own! When you are finished with it you can totally recycle it! What this stapler doesn’t have is FSC certification or even tell you what kind of wood it is. If the product had a little more description I would say it would be a necessity to every greenie however until I find where it’s made and what it is made from I will have to keep searching for a more eco friendly product. If you have seen any please let me know! I would love to write about it!
