Now that we are all actively shopping for the holiday’s do not be dazzled by the commercials and jingles you hear everywhere! Gluten free powder paint kit is a creative medium for a child to create a masterpiece with. This safe and organic paint is handmade in Maine and its packaging is made of 100% post consumer waste and 100% post consumer plastic. New Balance Made in the USA

I saw this the other day on New Balance’s website and was wondering how Made in America their items really are.   I did a little investigation. This is what their website says:

Made or Assembled in American Twenty-five percent of New Balanceshoes sold in North America are produced by our US workforce using US and imported materials. When possible, we obtain materials from domestic suppliers. At times, due to availability, economic or quality reasons, there is a need to import components from foreign sources. Where the domestic value is at least 70%, we have labeled the shoe “Made in the USA.” Where it falls below 70%, we have qualified the label referencing domestic and imported materials. This determination is based in part on the Federal trade Commission’s survey of consumers.

I think they are being honest about their statement Made in America seeing as how many companies don’t tell you their percentages or make it difficult to find any information about where their items are made. New Balance’ssite makes it quick and simple to find their Made in the USA promise. If the item is less than 70% they tell you what components are American made and what aren’t. I am not saying New Balance is the greenest shoe by far but I like what they are doing. People complain that items Made in America are too expensive or of poor quality (which aggravates me to no end) but here New Balance is giving you a discount for doing the right thing and purchasing American made products. I wish more companies would run promotions like this.

Lush Cosmetics Made in the U.S.A.

LUSH Cosmetics is one of my favorite cosmetic companies. Their items are handmade, some are vegan, they use recycled content packaging, if they use packaging at all and their products are Made in the USA. If you have ever seen their products you will notice how amazing they look, feel and smell. They are quite creative, I think. Here is a list of beliefs LUSH Cosmetics stands by:

This item is pricey for a nightstand and although one could probably go to Ikea and get something more economical the point is that this is an American Made product and the more we purchase them the less they will cost eventually. Not all products Made in America are expensive but we must support our economy at home and this is an excellent way to do it!

I know I wrote about a Method cleaning kit previously but this weekend while I was washing my dishes with my Method Cucumber scented dish soap I had to read the back lable. I am addicted to reading the backs of my products from ingredients, to fun facts to the company story. While reading the back of my dish soap I happened upon something that made me even happier that I use their products. IT WAS MADE IN THE USA!!!! I am still doing some research to see if all of the products are made in the USA but I know their dishsoap is! I have used Method’s laundry detergent, the hand soap, bathroom cleaner you name it. I like the idea of creative learning. I see this loom as a  way to have fun and learn an extremely practical craft that many take for advantage these days.

This beginner’s weaving loom is perfect for the young and the young-at-heart. An excellent loom for the beginning weaver, it also performs well as a portable loom for more experienced weavers. This loom features Beka rigid heddles which provide the weaver with an easy and reliable method of weaving. Both simple and complex techniques may be done with this loom. Made of hard maple from the USA, our beginner’s weaving loom comes fully assembled with a pre-warped heddle. A basic project is started on the loom, ready for weaving. Oompa’s instructions move through the rest of the project, then go step-by-step through planning and starting another project.
