About:Carnation Pink Mandala Record Bowls are created from recycled 12″ vinyl records. The “platters from the past” are upcycled with fresh acrylic paint and an original Eye Pop Art mandala design which is painted freehand with glossy highlights.

The record bowls are hand painted in original psychedelic patterns, heated, and lovingly sculpted into uniquely organic, flower-like forms. The spindle holes are filled so the bowls are water tight and functional. Semi-gloss polyurethane is used to finish to protect the paint and make the bowls food safe. The original record labels intact (and also sealed with polyurethane) on the bottom of each bowl – which record will YOU get?

Eye Pop Art bowls are fantastic for holding fruit, candy, candles, trinkets, or anything your heart desires. They are bright, colorful art objects to set on your coffee table. They are eco-friendly and make a great conversation piece! Surprise your guests when you tell them to flip the bowl over and see the very interesting recycled material that it was made from!

Mandala Record Bowls by Christine Claringbold are hand painted with original designs using high quality acrylic paints, then heated and lovingly sculpted into unique organic, flower-like forms. The artist has sealed up the spindle hole to make the bowl water tight and functional. The entire bowl, as well as the original record label on the bottom of the bowl, has been sealed with a glossy finish.

Made from a recycled 12″ vinyl record, the finished size is about 10″ in diameter and 3″ deep (about 25.4 cm in diameter and 7.62 cm deep).

I know you are probably getting tired of me constantly writing about Ecoist products but I really can’t help it. I know Halloween is over but I am in love with this bag like you cannot believe. Halloween is my favorite holiday and this bag is soo super cute!! I will keep it short and sweet I just wanted everyone else to fall in love with this bag like I did! The design stays true to the usual Ecoist form but the pattern is super cute and perfect for more than just Halloween, I think anyway. You should get one for yourself now before they are sold out. 5 Pretty Awesome Green Kids Toys

One of my favorite green stores is Wild Dill. They are a one stop shop for your green kids needs! Besides loving their children’s clothing (which will be addressed in a later article this month) their toys are outta site! I had to share some super cool toys I found while doing some holiday shopping for some friends and family. I hope you enjoy Wild Dill’s toys too!

Cut Veggies

This is probably one of the few times it is alright for your children to play with food! You can teach them how to be safe as well as the importance of eating their veggies all in one toy. This toy also helps increase their motor skills and coordination. This toy has used all child safe paints and was Fairly made in Asia.

Color Your Own Cottage

I would have loved this when I was a little girl! You can paint and decorate your own playhouse any way you want! The set comes with non-toxic water colors. The cardboard is made from 45% post consumer waste. Your child can use anything they want to make this playhouse their own. Get creative and most importantly have fun.

RaceCars

You child too can have super race cars made out of recycled milk jugs! These cars are super detailed and can rival the likes of any other race car out there. The cars are made right here in the USA which makes them double awesome.

When I was a kid I hated being told I had to stay in the lines! I never wanted to draw anything “perfectly” where was the fun in that? Where was the imagination? This dragon among other styles can teach your child to color out of the lines and follow their own path. I love this little guy! Best of all when you are finished with the toy it is full compostable!

I know it is difficult because many companies feign their environmentalism but if you know what to look for you can make the right decisions.
Nubius Organics about us section had a blurb that summed up exactly how I felt when starting my green mission ” But how? Where to start? There’s so much information out there – much of it overwhelming and difficult to fit into our lifestyles. It’s hard to know where to begin to be able to make a difference. The most consistent recommendation is to start slowly. Start small and even the most incremental changes will start to set free your inner environmentalist and things will just keep going from there! Nubius Organics carries many of the popular green brands such as Chelsea Green Publishing, Under the Nile, Eco Bags and so on but they also carry a few I haven’t heard of. Nubius Organics carries a wide varieties of items for children, home, fashion and lifestyle. Their site is pretty cute to boot!
I always say it but I will say it again. It is our duty to support green minded businesses. I know the greenest way to be is to not shop at all but being realistic and understanding our materialistic nature we must do our part to research and support businesses that do research and support our environment.
