It’s that time of year where your fur baby is shedding to puff up for their winter coat. Personally my I have to vacuum and dust everyday to keep us from being over whelmed by fur from all 4 of our little lovies. The last time we took our pups to the local pet store they recommended The FURminator a million times to us. They even brushed out both of our babies to show us how well it worked.
I’m not going to lie that sucker literally got the hair off in no time flat and for whatever reason the pooches didn’t even put up their normal fight about being brushed. The groomer at the store even said you could use it on cats (of which we have 2) if we wanted. The little button on the top of the brush even removes the hair from the brush for you.
I am seriously in love with The FURminator. My house needs to be vacuum and dusted only 3 times a week now haha. If you haven’t tried The FURminator yet and you are being overwhelmed by your pets shedding I really do suggest it. The FURminator is a little pricey but to be honest it was completely worth it. If you prefer to take your pet to be groomed go ahead but apparently this is the very brush they are all using.

Apple Cider Tini

 

 

 

I can smell Halloween in the air which makes me soo excited. In honor of fall and my excited0ness I have found the perfect fall drink to perk up my spirits and hopefully yours as well.

 

Ingredients:
Prairie Organic Vodka
4 oz organic fresh apple cider or instant (fresh usually tastes better)
4 oz Prairie Vodka
1 oz organic lemon juice
1 tsp organic cinnamon
Organic Cinnamon Sticks
6 or 8 organic apples (any once you prefer)

Directions:

1. Take your apples and cut the tops off. You can use an apple corer or a melon baller to remove the middle of the apples. You can also save the inside to make fresh apple sauce with. Waste not want not. Put the finished apples in the fridge.

2. Mix the cider, cinnamon and vodka together and put in fridge.

3. When you are ready to serve you can pour the cider into the apple cups and garnish with a cinnamon stick in each cup. You can also use brown sugar and cinnamon to line the top of the apple for added taste.

You can use warm cider as well if you want to spice up your party fun. I would still keep the apples either warm or room temperature. You can use this drink for a Thanksgiving or Halloween Party.

I know most of us have off of work this Monday September 5th for Labor Day and we love to go out and shop the amazing sales everyone, even green businesses, are having but have you considered partying, shopping or wasting? Why not take the time to clean your yard, fix broken things around the house or even better do some fun crafts from things that have been lying around the house.

I thought I would share my Labor Day weekend plans/ideas and maybe they will inspire you to do the same!

1. Clean up our yard. After the hurricane our garden and lawn is covered in leaves, branches and garbage which needs to be sorted through and recycled. I will also keep an eye out for things I can use to make crafts for this weekend.

2. Get veggies and herbs out of my garden that are ready to be picked.

3. Cooking for the week using what I have gotten from my garden and from around the house that has been sitting there waiting to be used.

4. Decorate my house for Halloween. I have been waiting all summer to decorate and since the weather has been much cooler lately I see no reason not to.

5. Clean and organize the house. There have been some cabinets, closets and drawers that I have been ignoring that need some organization. In the process I can put things aside to use in crafts.

6. Work out! Why not get your fitness on while you have a 3 day weekend! Healthy minds start with healthy bodies. Plus if you are putting all of this effort into cleaning up the environment you can save some time for yourself right?

7. Find fun fall crafts to do for Halloween, fall or back to school anything. Remember to use the items you found from your yard or when cleaning out your closets, cabinets and closets.

8. Have family time. Play games, watch a movie or eat a family meal. You have 3 whole days to spend together make the most of it. Take this time to learn more about how your family can be greener!

9. Take time to relax. Read a book instead of watching television. Make some at home spa treatments for yourself. Take a nice bath to release the stresses from your daily life.
