Chia Whip Fragrance Free Foam Cleanser

Chia Whip Fragrance Free Foam Cleanser

Chia Whip Fragrance Free Foam Cleanser

One Love Organics Chia Whip Fragrance Free Foam Cleanser  is seriously delightful. I have mentioned before how sensitive my skin is and how washing it either leaves me with super dry skin or breakouts. There is usually no in between. I moved to organic or natural cleansers years ago but even then my finds were generally hit or miss. I tried to stick with which ever brand didn’t make me break out and dealt with the dryness. What drew me to One Love Organics was their statement “We trust in the healing power of plants.http://www.gopjn.com/i/RUBMSkpHR0BJR0pETEBMSkpMRw“. I listed the ingredients below to show that One Love isn’t lying. One Love Organicshttp://www.pntrs.com/i/RUBMSkpHQ0BJR0pETEBMSkpMRw has a page listing all of their ingredients used to prove their plant based point, which I think is very honest and informative to use when making other purchases from other companies as well. One Love Organics is 100% pure, organic, and uses preservative-free formulas!http://www.pntrac.com/i/RUBMSkpHREBJR0pETEBMSkpMRw This is important to me and my skin as I am sure it is to you. The ingredients in most cosmetics would really make you cry if you knew what those huge 25 letter words actually meant.
If you have never tried One Love Organicshttp://www.pntrs.com/i/RUBMSkpHQ0BJR0pETEBMSkpMRw I suggest you do especially if you have sensitive skin or allergies like I do! If you have  tried One Love tell me about it.

Directions: A luxuriously lathering, organic foam cleanser, Chia Whip thoroughly removes dirt, excess oil, and makeup, while pampering the skin with organic supercritical chia oil, organic aloe vera and rosemary extract. DIY “Febreze”

DIY "FEBREZE"

DIY “FEBREZE”

I literally just got this recipe a few minutes ago from one of my besties who swears by it and say her DIY version last longer and is much cheaper than purchasing ready-made fabric/home fresheners. Most people have these simple items at home and can make as much or as little as you want at a time. You can customize the scent of your freshener to the season or just your favorite smells. I always prefer to make my own products because you can usually save yourself money but you know exactly what the ingredients are. That always makes me feel more comfortable than buying something but I can’t lie that sometimes my homemade concoctions don’t always come out right.

Ingredients:

Your Favorite Liquid Fabric Softener (I prefer Method myself)
Baking Soda
Hot Water
Reusable Spray Bottlehttp://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=fashijonz-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00745X4UC

Directions:

1. Add 3 tbsp. Fabric Softener to empty spray bottle
2. Fill spray bottle with approximately 2 cups hot water slowly. {depending on size of bottle}
3. Add in 1 tbsp. Baking Soda
4. Mix once well and let it settle then mix again until the baking soda has completely dissolved.

Since Dads Are Often Cheesy

Fathers Day is around the corner and you know how they love handmade gifts from their loved ones. Handmade gifts and ties right? They always want ties. Here is a creative and yummo way to show Dad that you love him.

Ingredients:
Organic rectangle shaped crackers
Organic sliced cheeses (you can use any kind even possibly spreadable but that might get messy)
Organic red or green bell pepper
Organic pepperoni (you can use vegetarian pepperoni as well)
Organic sliced cold cuts (you can use vegetarian cold cuts as well)
Organic scallions
Organic yellow mustard
Organic olives (green or yellow)

Directions:

1. For each shirt, top a cracker with a rectangle of cheese or cold cut.
2. Next, cut shirt details, such as a collar, pocket, tie, or button seam, out of olives, cheese, peppers, cold cuts or pepperoni.
3. Use thinly sliced scallions or dots of yellow mustard for buttons.
4. Get creative with it. You can make other things as well that remind you of dad. Cut out a wallet or a mug maybe a television.

Dad will get a kick out of your creativeness. It will be yummy too. You can try other foods such as hot dogs, pretzels, bread, ketchup, anything really. You can make a bunch of Dad shaped things.

Baked Salt & Vinegar Kale Chips

Baked Salt & Vinegar Kale Chips

Baked Salt & Vinegar Kale Chips

Kale is actually one of my fave leafy greens. I am not sure why but I think it has to do with the fact that I can throw a bunch into a boiling pot of water and then just snack away. It goes well with other veggie mixtures and stirfrys. I don’t think it has any particular taste but either way I am down with it. In an effort to creatively snack I decided to attempt some homemade kale chips since they are all the rage. They came out super delish I must say!

Ingredients:
1 bunch organic kale
1 tbs olive oil
1 tsp seasoned sea salt
1 tbs organic white balsamic vinegar
1 plastic freezer bag

Directions:
1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces.
3. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner or paper towel. 4. Put kale pieces in a large Ziploc bag and add half of the oil first. Massage the kale gently to make sure the leaves are covered then add the rest of the oil.
5. Add the vinegar and sea salt. Massage the leaves gently until they are covered with the mixture.
6.Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 15 to 25 minutes or until desired crispiness.

Cocoon Facial Cleanser

Petal Purity

You must know I love body scrubs because I write about exfoliating all of the time! I generally like to make my own but sometimes you don’t have time for a fresh beauty treatment so you must go to the next best thing! If you have to purchase a cosmetic or beauty product make sure you are choosing a responsible one. Remember whatever ingredients are in the product are going in and on your body. I know the words are difficult to sometimes understand on the back of the bottle but that should be the first clue that maybe you should rethink using that product. Cocoon Apothecary has a wide variety of skin care products that are perfect for the green beauty inside all of us.  You can see for yourself in their ingredient listings.  Nothing crazy in there.  You can pronounce all of the ingredients and probably have seen most of them in nature. I am actually drawn to the site simply because I think it is pretty. It is simple and almost elegant much like their products. No flashy designs or adds to confuse the customer, their products speak for themselves which speaks volumes about the kind of business Cocoon Apothecary really is.

Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub

Trader Joes Lavender Salt Scrub
Trader Joes Lavender Salt Scrub

I really can’t believe how long it has taken me to try Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Body Scrub but I finally have and am in love! I used to purchase the same kind of scrub from Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop before their scrubs were $30 for a 6.8ozs of scrub that isn’t as effective as it used to be! I have been looking for a scrub of this caliber for a very long time and finally have found it at Trader Joe’s. I knew good ol’Joe would never let me down at only $6.00 for a big heaping jug bring it on!!
I couldn’t wait to use it. After slopping it on my skin felt amazing. If you are not used to oil based scrubs please be advised that if you use this scrub you should either mix it with shower gel or use shower gel after your scrub so you can get the oil off. I read some other reviews and people complained about the oil but if you are an experienced scrub user as myself you know better. If you have time to sit around in your bathrobe after you use the scrub or even put lotion on right after you will be OK.
I absolutely love this scrub. I have been dying for an actual salt scrub for so long. I do make my own but I wanted a responsible back up and refuse to purchase from Bath and Body or The Body Shop anylonger. There is no reason a body scrub should cost more than $6 if it is mostly natural ingredients!
I say right on Trader Joe’s! You have made me soo happy and will continue using your Lavender Salt Scrub until your recipe changes or price goes up!
