Veritas Vegan Organics

Veritas Vegan Organics

Veritas Vegan Organics

I know I have written about body butters before and how to DIY them and such which is one of my fave things to do but I also love to find small companies who take the time and consideration to start a business where they care just as much about what you put on or in your body as you do yourself. Veritas Vegan Organics is one such company.
I found Veritas Vegan Organics on Facebook of all places. I know I shouldn’t be surprised by this but I stumbled upon Veritas in a networking forum on Facebook where you generally find an overwhelming amount of direct sales and spammers. Veritas products stood out clearly. I mean my ears perk anytime I see the words vegan, organic, or body butter. I decided I had to know about this company mostly because of my obsession with body butters but also because if this was a legitimate organic vegan company with great products that I needed to share.
After receiving my samples of body butters and soap I couldn’t resist using them right away. I had 2 body butters to try lavender and coconut! Two of my favorite scents. I won’t deny that the butters are a bit oily, to me, which normally aggravates me but I soon found out that the butter absorbs into your skin quickly and didn’t ruin or stain my clothes. My favorite thing to do is put the butter all over my feet then put socks on and go to sleep. When I wake up my feet feel amazing! What I also notice is that over time my skin felt and stayed softer. What I thought was “oily-ness” really just absorbed into the skin to help maintain its moisture which is something that I have an issue with because I do tend to wash my hands/shower a little often. This can strip your skin of its natural moisture very quickly.
If you like to get to know your companies the way I do then you must read the About Us  page! Try them out and let me know how you like their products and their company! So far I must say I am in love!

Barefoot Yoga Eye Pillow

Barefoot Yoga Silk Eye Pillow

Barefoot Yoga Silk Eye Pillow

I know the Barefoot Yoga Eye Pillow is technically supposed to be for your eyes which worked quite well and totally helped after a difficult yoga day but what really made me love this was when one night I had a terrible knot in my shoulder that I couldn’t get rid of and my first thought was of the silk eye pillow. I will admit the first time I put it in the microwave I was soo excited that the pillow got perfectly warm and stayed that way for quite sometime. The second time there may or may not have been some sparks due to the metal zipper that closes the pillow shut which I didn’t realize was there. I unzipped the pillow and put the contents in a bowl and microwaved that, make sure to use something that has a lip so it is easy to pour back into the bag. I kept the bag on my shoulder for probably 20-25 minutes and I was in heaven! My shoulder totally felt better and the smell of the lavender was amazing after being heated up. I use the eye pillow all of the time now. If I feel even the slightest bit of tension I warm up the insides and relax stress away. I am not sure if you are supposed to do this or if it damages the flax seed/lavender that is in the eye pillow but it is better than any heating pad or patch I have ever used. I like that if I want to add other herbs to the pillow I can because there is only a zipper and some silk between you and the pillow contents.  The zipper allows you to to empty the contents and hand wash the pillow .   Barefoot Yoga uses ceremonial sari designs for some of their eye pillows to add a bit of spice to their already awesome multi-purpose pillows.  There are more than 50 different designs/colors to choose from. If you need to relax for whatever reason or even want to meditate this silk eye pillow is totally for you and you won’t have to break the bank luckily for you the silk eye pillows are on sale right now!

Peppermint Pimple Zapper

Peppermint Pimple Zapper

Peppermint Pimple Zapper

I love this!!! I used to keep a vial of tea tree oil with me but this smells soo much nicer! The weather is changing and warmer weather is upon us. This means you may be needing more moisturizer especially if your skin is sensitive to the sun. This is a quick fix for anyone who suffers from pop up pimples. For me every time I am about to get one it looks like I have just gotten bitten by a bug and then a few hours later you can see a pimple. The peppermint and lavender can help soothe the skin while getting rid of the blemish. Like many of the harsh chemicals used in other skin care products the Peppermint Pimple Zapper by Karen’s Botanicals is focused more on soothing the skin than irritating it.  Your face will smell better and feel better after using this organic treatment. Have you ever tried the Peppermint Pimple Zapper or any of Karen’s Botanical products?

Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub

Trader Joes Lavender Salt Scrub
Trader Joes Lavender Salt Scrub

I really can’t believe how long it has taken me to try Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Body Scrub but I finally have and am in love! I used to purchase the same kind of scrub from Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop before their scrubs were $30 for a 6.8ozs of scrub that isn’t as effective as it used to be! I have been looking for a scrub of this caliber for a very long time and finally have found it at Trader Joe’s. I knew good ol’Joe would never let me down at only $6.00 for a big heaping jug bring it on!!
I couldn’t wait to use it. After slopping it on my skin felt amazing. If you are not used to oil based scrubs please be advised that if you use this scrub you should either mix it with shower gel or use shower gel after your scrub so you can get the oil off. I read some other reviews and people complained about the oil but if you are an experienced scrub user as myself you know better. If you have time to sit around in your bathrobe after you use the scrub or even put lotion on right after you will be OK.
I absolutely love this scrub. I have been dying for an actual salt scrub for so long. I do make my own but I wanted a responsible back up and refuse to purchase from Bath and Body or The Body Shop anylonger. There is no reason a body scrub should cost more than $6 if it is mostly natural ingredients!
I say right on Trader Joe’s! You have made me soo happy and will continue using your Lavender Salt Scrub until your recipe changes or price goes up!
