Original event invitation starts here:

Unless you live under a rock, you know that Lennox is a dog that was wrongfully seized and who has been sentenced to death after a 2 year battle to save him. All attempts to return Lennox to his family have failed. There are numerous petitions, letter writing campaigns and phone-in campaigns. It’s time to take it to the streets in support of the Save Lennox campaign.

This event is being organized by the Oreo’s Law Task Force, a project of No Kill New York. We chose to launch the event from the Oreo page because we hope that Oreo’s spirit and memory will shine on our endeavor. It is also our wish to let the people who hold Lennox’s life in their hands that the animal advocacy community never forgets an injustice. The campaign to honor Oreo’s memory started in 2009 and is still going strong today.

On Monday, July 9, 2012 @ 10:00 am we will gather at the British Consulate Office in New York City. When the Consulate closes at 12:00 Noon, we will move the protest to the Irish Consulate Office and continue there.

Foster & Rescue For the Holiday’s

Animal Foster & Rescue

Animal Foster & Rescue

I know many of you have probably noticed my focusing on helping rescue animals lately. I have recently started working with some people who really focus on trying to keep innocent animals from getting euthanized due to lack of space in shelters and at ACC’s (Animal Care & Control). This is an issue that has always been close to my heart as both of my pooches are rescues one from NYCACC. It is no question to me that these animals need saving. It breaks my heart when I see things like Gone But Not Forgotten folders with images of hundreds of dogs that have been put to sleep for no reason other than there is no where else to put them.
The holiday’s are coming up and I ask that maybe you can find it in your heart to help those that cannot help themselves. Even if you cannot adopt a pet you can foster and help find them a good home! This is the season of giving sooo instead of spending money on presents spend your time and love on a pet that would other wise probably be put to sleep. Even if you have other pets or are apprehensive you can find a pet best suited to you.
If you can or want to adopt think of all of the benefits adoption has. You don’t spend thousands of dollars on a 3lb pooch that was bred with its own parents who will probably only last a few years because of the medical issues inbreeding causes in animals. If you rescue you give a pet a chance to have a safe and loving home which all animals deserve. You will feel better about yourself and your decision everyday you look in to your rescues eyes. I promise you they appreciate it and will love you just as much for keeping them safe.
I thank my pooches everyday for finding me and saving me because without them and the experiences they having given me I would definitely be without. I urge all of you who read my blog or who just plain love animals to seriously consider fostering or adopting this season. You won’t regret it!
If you are interested and are in the NY area click here and bring home your new best friend today!! If you aren’t in the area you can google your local ACC and find out their requirements.
If you have rescued your pet please tell us your story and we will post it on our blog so everyone gets a chance to feel the love!!

Today I finally opened the Gone but Not Forgottenalbum for dogs who didn’t get rescued in time on Facebook. I cannot tell you how much my heart hurts today after seeing soo many beautiful animals needlessly killed because they couldn’t be adopted or fostered. I have been trying to do my part and sharing these dogs stories and photos with as many people as I can in hopes of helping these poor dogs find a new home. This “cross-posting” definitely takes a toll especially when an animal you were trying to save is put in the Gone But Not Forgotten photo album.
Today I write this article to ask for two things:
1. Help “cross-posters” out! Share the photos and stories of these animals so we can keep them from being destroyed. Please either e-mail me or find me on Facebook and I will get you in touch with the right people. Please help us help these animals.
2. Please read and follow NO Kill NEWS so you can stay on top of the news on where animals might be able to go or new laws that can help us save these guys! Another way to help is by visiting the NO KILL NATION store and help support an amazing cause.
Rescuing animals is something so near and dear to me. All of my pets are rescues and I encourage everyone I come across who is searching for a pet to rescue one. You are doing your community and the animal such a service. Imagine someone just leaving you out on the streets by yourself and one day you get brought to a place where you know no one or what is going on only to be destroyed a short time later. Why would we treat any living thing that way? These animals can’t help themselves they need us to care. With all the wrong that goes on in this world on a daily basis something small like helping rescues find a forever home is something that is so right and will make you feel amazing. Please help these hardworking cross posters and please please donate to NO Kill NATION!
