Please help! The facilities in NYC for abandoned animals are not adequate and with the rate of irresponsible people leaving perfectly good pets to die is increasing daily. Please help keep innocent animals from being destroyed! All you have to do is sing this petition to help. Your signature will help keep animals off the streets and out of ACC’s that kill upwards of 10 animals a day at minimum.

I know many of you have probably noticed my focusing on helping rescue animals lately. I have recently started working with some people who really focus on trying to keep innocent animals from getting euthanized due to lack of space in shelters and at ACC’s (Animal Care & Control). This is an issue that has always been close to my heart as both of my pooches are rescues one from NYCACC. It is no question to me that these animals need saving. It breaks my heart when I see things like Gone But Not Forgotten folders with images of hundreds of dogs that have been put to sleep for no reason other than there is no where else to put them.
The holiday’s are coming up and I ask that maybe you can find it in your heart to help those that cannot help themselves. Even if you cannot adopt a pet you can foster and help find them a good home! This is the season of giving sooo instead of spending money on presents spend your time and love on a pet that would other wise probably be put to sleep. Even if you have other pets or are apprehensive you can find a pet best suited to you.
If you can or want to adopt think of all of the benefits adoption has. You don’t spend thousands of dollars on a 3lb pooch that was bred with its own parents who will probably only last a few years because of the medical issues inbreeding causes in animals. If you rescue you give a pet a chance to have a safe and loving home which all animals deserve. You will feel better about yourself and your decision everyday you look in to your rescues eyes. I promise you they appreciate it and will love you just as much for keeping them safe.
I thank my pooches everyday for finding me and saving me because without them and the experiences they having given me I would definitely be without. I urge all of you who read my blog or who just plain love animals to seriously consider fostering or adopting this season. You won’t regret it!

Lost Our Home Pet Foundation Up For Pepsi Refresh Grant

Lost Our Home is excited to announce Lost Our Home Pet Foundation’s (LOH) official entry into the Pepsi Refresh Project’s $250,000 grant contest under the Neighborhoods category.

LOH needs support and votes from the community and animal lovers everywhere throughout the month of August. If awarded these funds, LOH will be able to launch and operate a no-kill shelter as well as expand the hours of its “Furry Friends Food Bank” to run 7-days a week.

Pepsi is giving away millions of dollars every month to fund great ideas that refresh communities in several different categories. Voting for new ideas begins today. Members of the community can vote for their favorite ideas at the Pepsi Refresh Project Web site, and come back again to support their favorite ideas daily. A winner will be chosen in each category for different levels of funding ranging from $5,000 to $250,000.

To receive this funding from Pepsi, LOH needs the support of the community through its VOTES.

Lost Our Home

Its been a brutal kitten season in Phoenix that seems to be never ending so more cats than ever need help but many people are out of town for the summer so it’s a double whammy. This makes our need for cat foster homes greater than ever and is leaving us no way to rescue the 70 plus cats/kittens on our intake wait list that desperately need us. If you or anyone you know in the Phx area is able to foster a cat or kitten PLEASE have them do a foster application asap. We can save their lives if we have a foster home a place them in.
