Pint Sized Cauliflower Pizza Crusts

Pint Sized Cauliflower Pizza Crusts

Pint Sized Cauliflower Pizza Crusts

Pizza is one food I can eat probably forever. I personally change it up so much that it never gets boring to me. The fact that it can be so carby/greasy/fatty is one of the best and worst parts about it. What can I say I am a New Yorker who loves her pizza and I rest my case! Luckily for me I share an equally impressive love of veggies so when smushing both ideas together to make me a less squishy version of myself when enjoying many a delish pizza I say let’s go for it! I am actually really excited to try this. Cauliflower is super delish! I have made “mashed taters” out of them and a few other potato substitute recipes. A pizza crust is almost like a new frontier.  I found this recipe on one of my favorite food sites Tablespoon.com

Ingredients:

1 large head organic cauliflower (about 4 cups shredded)
2 large eggs
3 cups shredded fresh mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon dried organic oregano
1 teaspoon dried organic basil
2 teaspoons organic garlic powder
1 cup pizza sauce
12 fresh organic basil leaves
1 organic tomato, sliced into 12 rounds
1/4 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions:

1 Using a grater or a food processor to shred cauliflower into crumbles. Reserve 4 cups of the crumbles and store the remainder, if any, in the fridge or freezer for future pizzas.
2 Cook cauliflower in microwave for 8 minutes then allow to cool 10 minutes.
3 Add eggs, 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, oregano, basil and garlic powder and stir to combine.
4 Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
5 Lightly grease 2 baking sheets (or pizza pans); divide mixture into 12 balls. Place balls on sheets and pat each into a thin round about 4 inches wide. Bake in oven 15 minutes until golden brown (the edges might be charred; this is OK).
6 Remove sheets from oven and heat broiler. Top each mini crust with pizza sauce, basil leaves, remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and tomato slices.
7 Broil pizzas until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let cool.

**You can add any veggies or cheese you like to these pizzas. Don’t be afraid to experiment! I bet they would be good for breakfast instead of toast or potatoes also!!

Gordon Set of 3 Multicolor Jeweled Handcrafted Candleholders

How beautiful are these candle holders!!  When I first saw them I thought they were made from recycled magazines but they are actually made from mango wood.  Mango wood is considered the new bamboo because of its ability to renew itself.  It isn’t hard enough to be used as flooring but can have many other decorative uses.  Apparently once a mango tree reaches 5 ft in diameter and over 90ft tall it no longer bears fruit.   The Gordon Jeweled Candle Holders are great for a gift or to decorate your home.  They can go with almost any color scheme.  The candle holders are a bit on the pricey side but for sustainable handcrafted home decor the price is quite reasonable.

Product Description: These eco friendly and exotic candle holders feature bright jewel tone accents. Spice up any setting!
Mango Wood is a sustainable wood. Asian farmers plant this tree for its fruit, which is picked and exported. Only when the tree stops producing fruit does it get timbered.

Mission
RSVP International strives to make quality products that are eco-friendly, safe for culinary use and long-lasting.

Why Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel is rust resistant because of its chromium content. Since stainless steel doesn’t rust or corrode like other metals and because the metals in stainless steel (nickel, chromium, molybdenum) don’t leak into your food when heated, dented or scratched, stainless steel products are used and recommended by chefs all around world. Stainless steel is a durable metal that keeps its integrity longer than most other cooking materials so you can keep your cooking utensils longer while adding less to landfills. Although many people don’t know this, stainless steel is 100% recyclable unlike many other cooking materials. In fact, on average 60% of the metal in each stainless steel product is obtained from recycling. It can be melted down and recycled, while other materials usually get put into land fills due to a lack of recycling facilities or an inability to recycle certain materials. They make products that stand the test of time, reusability is essential.
RSVP recycles and composts at their manufacturing facility whenever possible, keeping cardboard boxes and paper out of landfills. They have a large container/crusher that they call Chewboxa. Once Chewboxa is full, it is taken to a local recycling center for processing. RSVP is also conscious of their use of plastic and paper in the packaging of products. They use as little as possible while still sufficiently protecting products from damage.
RSVP analyzes green trends in order to make eco-friendly products of the future, available now. For instance, RSVP has been making their stainless steel one gallon composter since 2000, long before composting was so popular.

Learn Science by Making and Breaking Toys!

Learn Science by Making and Breaking Toys!

Learn Science by Making and Breaking Toys!

I have been seeing tons of green science projects and green toys in commercial stores lately. This is something I haven’t seen before. Usually when shopping for gifts I have to do it online at green stores because they are the only ones who carry them but over the weekend while looking for some gifts I saw this My Toy Factory – Learn Science by Making and Breaking Toys!
set and I was excited! I got a few of them to give to some kids that I knew would love them.  I can’t stress enough how important it is to start teaching children at a young age the importance of our environment and being eco-friendly.  This is something that will stick with them throughout their whole lives. Click here if you want to get My Toy Factory – Learn Science by Making and Breaking Toys! of your own.

Product Description:
My Toy Factory is an entertaining and eco-friendly concept where children MAKE their own play area and play environment using everyday material like straws, ice-cream sticks and newspapers etc and then BREAK these toys to understand how they work. Children open the kit and get an appointment letter to become workers in their own Toy Factory. They make tickly whistles out of ice cream sticks, swooshing jet cars from bottles & balloons along with ten more exciting toys using their toy kit. A perfect gift to engage the creative gene pool of your kid!

Preserve Toothbrush’s

Preserve Toothbrush

Preserve Toothbrush

This is basically the awesomest thing I have seen in a really long time. This toothbrush was made from recycled yogurt cups, they come in multiple colors and sizes. Stonyfield has partnered with Preserve to take their plastic scraps and plastic products to make the razors, tongue cleaners and toothbrushes. Preserve Jr. donates a portion of their proceeds to the National Wildlife Federation. Preserve does all recycling and manufacturing in the USA. The package that the tooth brush comes in is a no postage necessary mailable package to send back your toothbrush when you are done. The colors of the toothbrushes I bought are super cute too. My toothbrush is bright pink and the bf’s is a super cute blue. The brushes feel just like any you would buy in the store. I’m not sure why but I thought the brushes might feel different but they don’t which makes them even cooler.
I went to www.preserveproducts.com to see what else they have to offer and I am excited! They make razors, kitchen supplies, table ware and even to go products. The website is neat and clean and most of all colorful! I am soo in love right now. Preserves tableware is dishwasher safe which I think for moderate greenies/families is a definite plus.
You can also sign up for Gimme5 and Recyclebank on the Preserve website where you an earn rewards for recycling! If that isn’t incentive for doing the right thing I don’t know what is. There are all kinds of ways to earn points on both sites. I am extremely excited I found these sites and cannot wait to start earning points. The fun part is I already use most of the products that earn you points as well as have been recycling them! If only I knew about this sooner. Are you a member of Gimme5 or Recyclebank? If not you can log on with your Facebook account and show other people what you are doing.
