Rescue A Furb Today Please!

I love all of the work and effort rescues put into trying to save as many animal lives as they can. They work tirelessly and give so much of their own time, money and love to try to save these animals that most other people could care less about on a daily basis. The least we can do is make sure that we help them help these pets as often as we can. Pass this post, these pictures and links around as much as you possibly can! You never know you might be responsible for saving a life or maybe more!

Frank

Frank

Frank is a goofy boy! He is a staff and volunteer FAVORITE! Frank is social, polite, and knows how to charm everyone in the room. Frank LOVES to play ball! While out in the yard today, the volunteer said that once she got tired of throwing the ball for Frank, he took over and played fetch with himself! While in the office, Frank was calm and well- behaved, basking in all of the attention he was receiving. He sat down and spun around on his butt to face each person willing to pet him. Frank responded very well to positive reinforcement training, and seemed to really enjoy learning!

Ferry Mama

Ferry Mama

Ferry Mama is beyond beautiful! needs a home ASAP! She is obedient, affectionate and leash trained according to helpers. Everyone that met her says she is an amazing lady and would love to be in a home ASAP! Ferry Mama was found as a stray wondering the streets of Staten Island and would very much like to have a new forever home to be comfortable in.  She loves to snuggle and play and wants to share her love with someone that will love her back.

Chili

Chili

Chili is definitely one of the good guys, the kind your Mom refers to as ‘a keeper’. He’s sweet-natured, respectful, extremely friendly and stunningly handsome – just look into those bi-colored eyes and tell me you’re not smitten! Chili is snuggly and happy to see me when leashed up for a walk. Once out in the yard he’s even happier to see his favorite toy, the tennis ball. The only thing Chili enjoys more than tennis balls are his fellow dogs and he’ll literally drop what he’s doing and run over to greet them with a wiggly butt and happy ‘helicopter tail’. Chili keeps a clean den, uses the bathroom promptly once outside.

Nutmeg

Nutmeg

Nutmeg is sugar and spice and all things nice! Named for the seed whose color she shares, Nutmeg is a truly stunning beauty. With her soft, short fur and sleek physique she has the look of royalty. Nutmeg isn’t just a pretty face, she’s also an enthusiastic puppy with personality to spare. She really loves to play with her ball and is thrilled to meet other dogs both large and small. Nutmeg is a little timid around people right now and her tail stays tucked much of the time but she accepts petting and soft words and will obediently sit for treats before taking them very gently from the hand. In the street she walks low and very fast, the walk of a scared young dog. Her new family will need to help Nutmeg learn that the outside world is not going to hurt her and it’s OK to move at a slower pace but with time and love she will get there.

Rescue Some Adorbs Pooches

Please take a good look at these ladies! They are going to be destroyed soon if someone doesn’t help save them. Your new best friend could be right here waiting for you. Think of how happy these ladies will be if they can find their forever home instead of cruelly being put down with little thought and care no living thing deserves that.

Jersey - ID#A0926512

JERSEY – ID#A0926512Poor girl is terrified and I would be too. Who know’s how much time she has left? She came in as a stray and probably is lost trying to find her way home. Don’t let her get destroyed, help her find a safe place to play and be happy. Think about if your dog got lost and ended up here. You would want someone to save them wouldn’t you?

BRECK - A0926627

BRECK - A0926627

BRECK – A0926627shines like a bright orange flame in her dark blue kennel. She moves a lot like a sparkle. She is so pretty, a mix of a Pitie and a Boxer. A mother she was, recently separated from her puppies. One wonders where those are as Breck and Buddy, her housemate were the only two dogs brought to our Care Center. Breck is on the thin side but her coat is beautiful. She is very hungry and searches my bag for food. She is the typical mom who has lost her babies, her purpose in life. After a while, beautiful Breck comes to sit next to me., then poses her front legs on my lap and showers me with kisses. It is a matter of time for her to regain her figure and her balance. Breck is a lovely girl.

GLENDA - A0927307

GLENDA - A0927307

GLENDA – A0927307Glenda is a well mannered and gracious older dog. She has been kept in mint shape by her owner who unfortunately lost his or her home. Glenda is feminine. She is trim in her salt and pepper suit. Her face is delicate and attractive. She seems to wear eyeliner. All together, Glenda is an elegant female. Glenda is a dream on the leash. She is of course house trained. At times and mostly when she sits very close to me, Glenda whimpers very softly. More hugs are in order. She is very needy and affectionate. Glenda was clearly a family dog, a pet who was very much liked by her owners and finding herself in a shelter is a major shock to her. Glenda is very docile, obedient and executes orders readily. She is a perfect and proper dog who wants to please her caretaker.

ELLE - ID#A0926950

ELLE - ID#A0926950

ELLE – ID#A0926950appears to have been well taken care of, her coat is healthy, her body weight good and she is a social sweet little girl. She might be house trained taking care of things as soon as we were out the door. She’s as cute as can be, sitting for her photo session, waiting for treats that she knew I had in my bag, and wagging her tail waiting to be done so that we could walk some more. Ellie has lots of positive energy so I see her in a family who can take her for long walks, perhaps toss a tennis ball and then invite her to snuggle up on the nearest lap. Ellie is waiting for her new family to walk in, meet her and say “yes, this is my new fur baby”. Ask to meet this black and white delight today.

NOEMI - ID#A0927226

NOEMI - ID#A0927226

NOEMI – ID#A0927226 looks like she could truly be your BFF. She is young, pretty, lively, friendly with people and dogs alike and so girly. Noemi wiggels in her kennel. She is a cute caramel and white girl with golden eyes. She is all happy to go out and be cared for. What an outgoing girl although so well behaved. Noemi is excellent on the leash and might be house trained. She poses for the pictures without objecting. It is part of the outing, she thinks. Noemi is the ultimate lap dog and literally showers me with kisses.

Today I finally opened the Gone but Not Forgottenalbum for dogs who didn’t get rescued in time on Facebook. I cannot tell you how much my heart hurts today after seeing soo many beautiful animals needlessly killed because they couldn’t be adopted or fostered. I have been trying to do my part and sharing these dogs stories and photos with as many people as I can in hopes of helping these poor dogs find a new home. This “cross-posting” definitely takes a toll especially when an animal you were trying to save is put in the Gone But Not Forgotten photo album.
Today I write this article to ask for two things:
1. Help “cross-posters” out! Share the photos and stories of these animals so we can keep them from being destroyed. Please either e-mail me or find me on Facebook and I will get you in touch with the right people. Please help us help these animals.
2. Please read and follow NO Kill NEWS so you can stay on top of the news on where animals might be able to go or new laws that can help us save these guys! Another way to help is by visiting the NO KILL NATION store and help support an amazing cause.
Rescuing animals is something so near and dear to me. All of my pets are rescues and I encourage everyone I come across who is searching for a pet to rescue one. You are doing your community and the animal such a service. Imagine someone just leaving you out on the streets by yourself and one day you get brought to a place where you know no one or what is going on only to be destroyed a short time later. Why would we treat any living thing that way? These animals can’t help themselves they need us to care. With all the wrong that goes on in this world on a daily basis something small like helping rescues find a forever home is something that is so right and will make you feel amazing. Please help these hardworking cross posters and please please donate to NO Kill NATION!
