Fundraiser for Doug

Fundraiser for Doug

One of my closest friends has recently found out his 6 year old nephew has been diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This is a difficult thing for any adult to go through not to mention a child. Since there is only so much one family can do they have decided to have a fundraiser to help! Any little bit goes a long way. Please click here to read more about Doug and his family as well as see what you can do! There will be a fundraiser on June 22nd with food, drinks, fun, games, raffles and many other things! Once I have more details I will of course, keep you posted. Please help me help my friend and his family as this cause is very important to me and I don’t reach out like this often and let’s be honest can you resist that little face?!?!?!?! I don’t think so!
Please also share this link or post anywhere and everywhere you can! If you would like to donate a product or service for the raffle or even a gift to Doug or his family feel free to e-mail me I appreciate any help for my friend and this super little boy!
Being that I have no idea what exactly Lymphoblastic Leukemia is as I am sure many of you don’t either here is what Wikipedia says: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a form of leukemia, or cancer of the white blood cells characterized by excess lymphoblasts.
Malignant, immature white blood cells continuously multiply and are overproduced in the bone marrow. ALL causes damage and death by crowding out normal cells in the bone marrow, and by spreading (infiltrating) to other organs. ALL is most common in childhood with a peak incidence at 2–5 years of age, and another peak in old age.
Cure is a realistic goal. ≥94% of children have continuous disease-free survival for 5 years and appear cured. 30-40% of adults have continuous disease-free survival for 5 years. [1][2][3]
Acute refers to the relatively short time course of the disease (being fatal in as little as a few weeks if left untreated) to differentiate it from the very different disease of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which has a potential time course of many years. It is interchangeably referred to as Lymphocytic or Lymphoblastic. This refers to the cells that are involved, which if they were normal would be referred to as lymphocytes but are seen in this disease in a relatively immature (also termed ‘blast’) state.

18th Annual Stroll to Sea Dog Walk

Animal Rescue Fund

Animal Rescue Fund

One of my favorite people who just hosted a donation event at her home about two weeks ago is now participating in the 18th Annual Stroll to the Sea Dog Walk for Arf Hamptons. If you click here you can donate to this amazing cause. I have probably over mentioned my dedication to rescuing animals and how much every little bit you give helps in heaps and bounds. It is important we help support these causes before more animals are put down. No one likes to see the pictures rescue’s post about animals being put down. It breaks my heart every time I even think about it. Your participation in donating could save that many more animals from being needlessly murdered. Please do you part and help support an amazing cause!

When: Wednesday August 24 at 3:00pm – September 5 at 9:00am

Location: On line

More Info: Hi Fellow Friends & Animal Lovers:

This is something that is VERY NEAR AND DEAR to my heart!!

I’m working w/ Gold Canyon Candles to raise money for Lost Our Home Pet Foundation who is a resource for real estate professionals and other members of the community who discover an abandoned pet, and to provide options for pet owners faced with difficult economic circumstances while promoting the spaying and neutering of pets. These animals are left with no food, water and no way to remove themselves from a backyard.

The wonderful thing about this organization is they help people keep their beloved pets by distributing food to families who cannot afford it, temporary house them until a family can get back on their feet and help animals that are left behind and find them a forever home. Lost Our Home Pet Foundation will get 40 % of total profit. The great thing about candles is they smell wonderful, make great gifts and at the same time you can help an animal that is victim to foreclosure. Below are the list of scents and prices.

Lost Our Home Pet Foundation Up For Pepsi Refresh Grant

Lost Our Home

Lost Our Home is excited to announce Lost Our Home Pet Foundation’s (LOH) official entry into the Pepsi Refresh Project’s $250,000 grant contest under the Neighborhoods category.

LOH needs support and votes from the community and animal lovers everywhere throughout the month of August. If awarded these funds, LOH will be able to launch and operate a no-kill shelter as well as expand the hours of its “Furry Friends Food Bank” to run 7-days a week.

Pepsi is giving away millions of dollars every month to fund great ideas that refresh communities in several different categories. Voting for new ideas begins today. Members of the community can vote for their favorite ideas at the Pepsi Refresh Project Web site, and come back again to support their favorite ideas daily. A winner will be chosen in each category for different levels of funding ranging from $5,000 to $250,000.

To receive this funding from Pepsi, LOH needs the support of the community through its VOTES.

Click here to cast your daily vote for LOH and give helpless animals a second chance. Voters can also text 101792 to Pepsi (73774).

Please join with us for this daily effort and ask your friends, family and coworkers to do the same. Your continued votes can help secure LOH’s place as a contender!
